Roblox partnered with Chinese company Tencent.
Tencent now controls the Chinese section of Roblox.
Tencent decided to make a completely seperate version of Roblox (罗布乐思)
In aid of (?) the future release of Chinese version, Roblox decided to block all Chinese players off the international server.
As of 11th Aug 2020, we have no roblox server to play on (blocked on the international version, Chinese version is closed)
synopsis
I hereby represent Chinese robloxians to ask Roblox to:
Either:
Terminate your partner relationship with Tencent Interactive Entertainment and treat Chinese players like you did previously.
Or:
Continue the relationship, release the Chinese version but stop region-locking us (i.e. IP blocking on website). This way Tencent can profit AND we have the choice to play which.
You may also want to consider the risk of your unfavourable involvement in the recent US Tencent ban

Has China blocked Roblox?
No. The Chinese government have got nothing to do with this. It is ROBLOX who blocked Chinese players by Tencent's request. The whole thing is unrelated to politics. -
Can't you just use a VPN?
Yes. That's like saying "We've ran out of donuts, here, dip those bagels in maple syrup". That's a temporary fix that doesn't solve the root of the problem. Games will always be laggier with VPN. -

Aug 3 - Roblox "patched" this workaround and implemented a domain-wide HTTP redirection. Now it's impossible to access roblox without VPN. Help posts flooded the forum again.
